Trademark watch services compared — what each one costs, and who should buy which

A trademark watch exists for one reason: when a confusingly-similar mark is published for opposition in the USPTO Official Gazette, you have 30 days to oppose it or ask for an extension. Nobody tells you it happened — the USPTO does not monitor marks on your behalf. A watch is the thing that notices in time.

We sell one of these products, so read the table with that in mind. We have therefore put the cheapest option first, said plainly where the others beat us, and dated every price to the day we loaded the seller's own page. Prices below were checked on the dates shown; the rest of this page is regenerated from our live index, last rebuilt from the 2026-09-01 Gazette issue.

USPTO trademark search (free) — Free. The authoritative source, complete and free. If you will genuinely run a search every Tuesday yourself, you do not need any product on this page. The USPTO states plainly that it does not monitor marks or alert owners to conflicting filings — searching is on you.

Markify — $39/yr per mark (US Federal Full). Cheapest verified watch we could find, and the only one on this page that will follow your mark into 190 non-US registers. Twenty years in the business, keyword filtering by goods and services, bulk pricing for portfolios.

TMReady (formerly The Trademark Search Company) — from $59 (duration not stated on the page). Human analysts rather than an algorithm, and a single vendor for US plus most major foreign registers if you are filing abroad.

Hawthorn Law — $99/yr for up to 5 marks (up to 20 at no extra charge). By far the best deal if you own several marks — five for $99 beats us on price from mark 4 onward — and the only option here where a licensed attorney will get on the phone with you about a hit.

And to be explicit about our own weak spots: we watch the United States only, our alerts arrive as a private web page and an RSS feed rather than an email (email is being built; buyers get it at no extra charge when it ships), we are a one-person automated operation with no attorneys, and while $29 is the lowest single-mark price in the table as of the dates shown, a flat bundle such as Hawthorn Law's is cheaper once you watch several marks.

What you get from us for $29

One mark watched for twelve months against every Tuesday Gazette issue — currently 361,260 marks published or registered since 2026-05-05 in the rolling window this site searches — using a matcher that is open source and benchmarked in public against real USPTO §2(d) refusal and opposition pairs. One payment, no auto-renewal, full refund within 14 days. No account: you enter your mark at checkout and get a private alert page plus an RSS feed within a day.

The part that is free forever and needs no account: the instant similarity report on the home page (it runs in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere), the per-class listings of newly published marks, and the weekly CSV of every word mark in each issue. We sell the watching, never access to the data.

Try the watch before you pay for it.

The free 30-day watch is the same matcher, the same alert page and the same feed, for one mark, with no card and nothing to cancel. If it flags nothing useful in a month, you have lost nothing and you know not to buy.

How the prices on this page are kept honest

Every competitor price above was read off that company's own public page on the date printed beside it, by the same automated job that rebuilds this site. Prices change and pages move: if one of these is out of date, that is a bug — open an issue and it gets fixed on the next run. Rows older than 90 days are marked in red rather than shown as current. We do not take affiliate commissions from anyone listed here, and none of these companies has any relationship with us.
